Mother's Day

I was  so spoiled on Mother's Day!  Seth got up with the children and let me sleep a little longer.  They all came in and surprised me with breakfast in bed.  So sweet.
They all piled on the bed while I ate breakfast.
I was looking at all four of these beautiful children and felt so blessed to be their mother.
I thought back to mine and Seth's second year of marriage.
I came home on the Saturday before mother's day and there were flowers on the table with a note from Seth saying, Happy Mother's Day!  You are going to make a wonderful mother one day. 
He was always so great at helping me keep the faith.
It's amazing what has happened to our family in the past eight years. 
I am so grateful for my children.

Laurel and Savannah brought me home a gift from church.
It was a note that said, M&M Moment {Mom and Me Moment}
It had a package of M&M's attached.
The note had all the colors of M&M listed with a question or something for you to talk about together.  For example, if I drew the blue M&M, the corresponding question was, what is one of your favorite things to do with me?  Or if they drew blue, they had to tell me.  It was such a great idea for a simple Mother's Day gift.
I went to their room with them one at a time.
We took turns drawing and eating our M&M's and talking to one another.
It's really simple what makes children happy.
They just want one on one time with you. And they want to feel special.

I'm grateful for my own mother who I have so much more respect for every day. 
She is always there to listen to me vent.  She never judges.  She is the most compassionate woman I know.
She can decorate like a professional decorator and absolutely loves doing it.  I think this must be where I get my passion of decorating.
She is a great cook and we can spend hours talking about recipes.
Her front door has always been open to anyone.  She never meets a stranger.  Believe me, she can get someone's life story standing in the grocery line.
I love you mom!

Rain Puddle Through a Little Kids Eyes

Rain puddle, rain puddle
lying on the ground.
Why don't you make a sound?

I see you.
I even see me.
Oh! You're wet and slippery.

Sometimes clear.
Sometimes brown.
Sometimes different colors

I think I can, I think I can

I got to go with my precious Savannah on a field trip to the Children's Theater.

We watched the play, The Little Engine That Could.

It was so good and Savannah loved it.

She had such a sweet, kindergarten class.

After the play, we went to a park and had lunch and played.  It was so much fun just being with Savannah!

Sawyer {7 months}



Wowzer.......  my life is getting so exciting.  Look at me!  I can sit up now and my brother took me for a ride on this thing that went really fast.  It was so much fun!! 

I am 7 months old!  Can you believe it?  I went to the doctor a few weeks ago.  It always starts out so nice.  The sweet doctor looks at me smiling and saying what a cute baby I am and how I look really healthy and then all of a sudden, I get a big poke in my legs and it hurts! 

Guess what?  I eat food now!  My daddy gave me a popsicle before I was really suppose to eat food and I loved it!  I love my food and my milk.  Really, the only time I get upset is when I'm hungry. 
So, they told my mommy that I weigh 18.4 pounds and that I'm in the 50-75%.  The nurse said that my height is 27 1/4 inches and that is the 75 percentile and my mommy said, "wow, we have never had a baby in the 75 percentile for height!"  Hmmmm.... I wonder what that means?

Well let me tell you about some of the things I can do now......
I roll and roll and roll to whatever I want.
I get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth.  I know there is more to this, I just haven't figured it out yet.
I FINALLY cut two bottom teeth.  I worked and slobbered for two months before they finally shot through.
I grab everything.  I even pull hair!
I giggle a lot at my brother and sisters.  They are so sweet to me.
I can sit up really well.
I still get up sometimes around 12 or 1 in the morning.  I think my mommy is getting tired of this.  I know I should probably give her a break.  I mean, I kinda am a butterball.  But, I do go right back to sleep after I drink some milk.
I love to spit!  I just stick my tongue out and start spitting.
I am really loud with my babbling.
I even made the sound, "mama" and mommy screamed!  I think she was pretty excited.
I love to take a bath.  I splash and splash and splash that water.

Pitiful

A few weeks ago, Landon crawled in my lap around 11:00 and said, "rock me."  I could not believe it but he was asleep within minutes.  I got up and got busy and thought I was having a lucky day.  I should have known.  I went to wake him up so we could go get the girls and he was on FIRE with 103 fever.  I took him to the doctor and he had a fever virus.  I had to get a picture of him.  It's not often that we get to see him so calm.  He was pitiful and I would much rather see him like this....

Aldridge Gardens

I got to spend the whole day with my sweet Laurel at Aldridge Gardens in Hoover.  Who knew this 30 acre beautiful garden was right in the middle of Hoover. 

I gave Laurel my camera and these are some of the pictures she took.

She loves flowers as much as I do!

They learned all about soil and dug through dirt for worms, which was her favorite part!  They got to look at the worms under a magnifying glass

After lunch, we walked around this beautiful lake with her friends.  The day was so gorgeous.  It was perfect weather.

Laurel is taking gymnastics and will just drop down and do a split or a cartwheel or handstand.  She loves gymnastics!
