The Sun Came Out!

I really try to embrace all of the seasons.  They each have something beautiful and different to offer.  But I'm not going to lie!  I'm ready to see winter go!  Bring on spring.  It has been brutally cold and yucky, rainy weather for far too long.  The boys have major cabin fever.  One day last week, it warmed up to the high 40's and the sun was out, so the boys and I took advantage of it.

I love watching Landon on a bike!  He has such natural talent.

Lost With A Sandwich

This past week, Landon started telling me that his tooth felt funny.  He screamed, "I think I have a loose tooth!"  I felt of it and sure enough it was very loose.  It was a very long two days with this boy and that first, loose tooth.  He had issues eating.  He didn't want to bite in to anything.  He kept saying, "I need long, straight food, like french fries, mommy!"
Seth took the boys with him and picked up the girls from school.  They stopped by Subway to get something to eat.  I guess hunger took over, because Landon bit into a sandwich and then realized his tooth was in his tummy, along with his sandwich!  I sure do wish I had been there to witness his facial expression when he realized he had swallowed his first, loose tooth!

 He was very concerned about how the tooth fairy would find him if he did not have a tooth under his pillow.  We told him to write a note to her and we would put that under his pillow.  So he told Savannah what he wanted to say and she wrote it down.  And it worked!  The tooth fairy left him 4 quarters!

A Sunbeam!

We have hit a milestone in our family!  We no longer have any children in the church nursery.  Sawyer started the New Year off as a Sunbeam (name of the 3 year old class at church).  And there's a famous song that is sung to you when you become a Sunbeam.  It goes like this:

It's sung with a catchy little tune.  I feel like nursery flew by for Sawyer.  Maybe that's because he only went consistently for maybe 8 months.  He was nursery age at 18 months.  Yes, he was a rebel and didn't take to the nursery very well.
I'm so lucky to be the teacher of the sunbeam class!  I'm so excited and of course, Sawyer is too.

Sawyer is the only little boy in his class.  The title of the lesson was, I Am A Child Of God.  I had taught them how God created our bodies and then I gave them play dough and told them to make a body.  The little girls were making hair for their bodies and putting clothes and shoes on their bodies. I looked over at Sawyer and he had made a snake!  Oh well, God created those too!

New Year's Day {2015}

Construction and football were the highlights of the first day of 2015.  Let's just say the construction went better than the game playing.  Seth built the girl's a new closet for their bedroom!  Yep, just went down to the basement and hammered away.  Then opened the door and said, "sweetheart, can you help me carry this wall up the stairs!"

I was amazed.  

I'm so excited to see Laurel and Savannah's room change.  They have shared a bed for the past 6 years.  And as Laurel put it, "a girl has got to have her own space!"  So they are still sharing a room, but will have their own beds.  I personally think they are going to miss each other. ;) They are always snuggled together when I go into their rooms in the morning.  On either side of the closet, they will have a nook area where their desk will go.

As I was cleaning out their room, I was honestly tearing up at all of the posters they have put around their room.  So, I took pictures, of course, to show them when they are teenagers and maybe not getting along all the time.

I remember when they were making this one.  They heard this saying on a disney show they were watching.  They kept going back and forth, "did they say, sisters by chance, friends by choice?  Or was it the other way around?"  Anyway, I thought it was so sweet that they wanted to copy the saying and hang it in their room.

Laurel has had this beside her bed for over a year now.  Her 2nd grade teacher, Miss Harris told her this all the time when she was struggling with math.

New Year's Eve

As the ball was dropping, walls were dropping!

We have been in our house for 7 years now, and certain things about our floor plan has bothered both Seth and I.  We started talking a few months back about how we could change the floor plan up a little and make things flow better.  So Seth began knocking some walls down on New Years Eve!
It was actually pretty exciting for all of us to watch.

What was Laurel and Savannah's closet, is now a new hallway!

We have a pretty amazing dad!

And the boys thought he was even more amazing, when he let them take his drill outside and drill screws into cardboard!
