Carriage Ride

The day before we left to come home, my dad and mom set up a horse ride for the grandchildren.  Now, Laurel's trip was complete!  After dad's stroke, he sold his horses.  We are hoping that he will get some more one day.  He actually sold one of them to his next door neighbor so he still gets to visit him.  Mom said one day she looked out the window and saw dad standing by the fence and his old horse, TJ, had his head laying on dad's shoulder!  Dad was just standing there hugging him.  Whoa, that was a tear jerking story!  I'm pretty sure I cried.  It's very hard seeing your parents getting older.  It's hard watching your dad slow down.  He was always able to do everything.
Anyway, dad's neighbors have this really cool wagon and horse and they were kind enough to come over and take us for a ride!

We got to visit with my cousin and her husband, John before we left.  They are from Idaho and had brought their two girls to EFY.

My girls feel like they are on Little House On the Prairie when we visit my parents.

Sweet Neighbors!  This was a perfect way to end the vacation.  It's always so hard saying goodbye.
