Laurel Turns 12

I really can not believe how fast time goes.  For years, it felt like time was creeping, but now I can't seem to keep up.  It seems just like yesterday, I was in labor with Laurel, and was the happiest pregnant woman alive.  I knew I would be quitting work and starting a new job, as a full time mom.  We have to apologize to Laurel all the time.  We explain to her that she is our first and unfortunately we are learning with her.  She is the sweetest girl, with the kindest heart.

All she wanted for her 12th birthday was to go shopping at a real mall!  She wanted it to be a girl's day with her sister, me and her aunts.  So Aunt Jamie, Savannah and I took her to the Galleria.  Her and Savannah tried on clothes, we had lunch, rode the carasouel, and she got a make over!  She's growing up!  It was a really fun day and she was so happy that Aunt Jamie could be there.  We found out later that Aunt Jamie spent the morning with us, and then headed to Thomasville to say her final goodbyes to her brother-in-law, who had cancer.  It meant so much to us that she would make time for Laurel on her birthday.  She is such a great example to my girls and I love when I hear them say, "I want to be like Aunt Jamie when I grow up!"

This sums Laurel up:
I got a text from a friend, who homeschools her two little girls.  Her text said, Kyleigh was given a writing assignment to do this morning.  Look who she picked as her hero!
