Who needs a housekeeper.....
When you've got this little guy!
He even sweeps in heels!
Guess who came to babysit for me a few Saturdays ago? Papa, Seth's dad. Now, I would have never thought to ask Papa to watch my children, by himself. He knew I was having trouble finding a babysitter so I could go to my sister-in-laws baby shower. She is about to have the second "Clayton grandboy." And, boy oh boy are we excited! Anyway, Papa called me up and asked if he could watch them. I couldn't help but laugh when Savannah said, "Papa is taking care of us?" He can't watch us, he's an old man." And he is. He's 70 something, I forget. I forget because you would never know it. Memories were made that day and all survived!
I made my first pillows!
They were all centered around this green chair. Seth had this chair before we got married and I've been decorating around it ever since. Our first year of marriage, I looked for a chair slipcover to cover it up because I didn't think it could possibly be in style. Then my Aunt Barbara, the decorating queen, came for a visit and told me that this green color was very popular. So, my wheels started turning and Mom flew down from Utah and we spent two weeks decorating mine and Seth's room around this green chair. At the end of the two weeks, we did the whole cover your eyes, light the candles, reveal with Seth. It was so much fun! Then the chair went to the guest room years later. And then to the basement when we had Landon because the guest room became Landon's room.
I had this polka dot chair already and I wanted another chair to fill the space. I found one, but knew we didn't really have $200 to spend on a chair. So I brought the green chair up from the basement. This polka dot chair has a robins egg blue circle in it. I knew that green, blue and brown all go, but it really wasn't working. Even Seth wondered how I was going to tie the green in. Well, I knew that could be done through pillows. I was in Hobby Lobby one day and what did I find? That's right, fabric with all of my colors. I almost screamed right there in the middle of Hobby Lobby. It was as if I had sat down with a fabric designer and said this is what I need! I love it! I love how fresh and light and airy it looks. Now, if you are not a lover of green, this is probably one ugly chair to you. I think I inherited my love of green from my mom. I'm having fun putting this room together. I just wish mom was here. Decorating is always more fun with mom!
