It was very exciting that her class and her best friend Ava's class got paired up to hang out together on the field trip. This has never happened before so these two girls were excited.
Laurel really did not want to go into this cage and play air ball, but I kept encouraging her to try it. She did and had so much fun.
Laurel's favorite part was the light show they did inside the cave. They turned off the lights and the cave was pitch black dark. You couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Then they did a light show about the creation of the earth. It was really neat.
Panning for gold.
Little hands getting muddy.
I love the expression on Laurel's friend's face. This is Lauren Grace and her parents are from Monroeville, where I grew up. Her mom and my sister, Audra were best friends in high school. We put all this together at the beginning of the school year. It is such a small world. Laurel and Lauren Grace have gotten to be really good friends.
Laurel's third grade class. It was a really pretty day and a fun field trip. Laurel thought the cave was pretty creepy and didn't really like thinking about dead people being buried beneath her feet. My favorite line from her was, "that tour guide is giving us way too many details!"
