My Dad Had A Stroke/part three

It was like a family reunion in dad's room on Sunday.  We stayed pretty much the whole day visiting with him and with each other.

A group of young adults were going from room to room, singing church hymns.  Dad, of course, cut up with them for a few minutes.  Everyone on staff obviously knew that dad was from Alabama.  Not only from his southern accent but from his just down to earth friendliness personality that never meets a stranger.  He chose the hymn, I need thee every hour.

They began singing this song.  It was so beautiful how they all harmonized together.  Dad immediately started crying.  One thing that is common in stroke patients, is that it is very hard for them to control their emotions.  Dad could be laughing really hard one minute and then cry the next, which would make us all start laughing!

But in this special moment, with them singing,  I don't think there was a dry eye in the room.

Mom hugging dad goodbye, my last night there.

I need thee every hour, Most gracious Lord.
No tender voice like thine Can peace afford
I need thee every hour; Stay thou nearby
Temptations lose their pow'r When thou art nigh.
I need thee every hour, In joy or pain.
Come quickly and abide, Or life is vain.
I need thee every hour, Most holy One.
Oh, make me thine indeed, Thou blessed Son!

I need thee, oh, I need thee; Ev'ry hour I need thee!
Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee!

I'm so grateful for the power of prayer and for Eternal Families.
