An Easter Story

Our family was asked to do a spiritual activity at the church Easter Activity.  I let Seth narrate the Easter Story while the children acted it out.

Here are some of the pictures that a couple of my friends took.

Landon wrapped Jesus' body in linens (marshmellow in crescent roll) and placed it in the tomb and rolled the rock in front.

Sawyer was the angel.  He came in and rolled the rock away and removed Jesus' body.  I told him to do it very secretly so no one in the audience would see that part.  I wanted the tomb to be empty when Mary and Mary Magdalene came to visit.

Mary and Mary Magdalene visisted the tomb and left to tell everyone that Jesus was not there.

Mary Magdalene returned and fell to her knees.

She began to weep.

Christ appeared to Mary Magdalene (picture of Christ on the easel) telling her that he lives.

 Seth ended with this message.
This is the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it.  Jesus lives, and because of His sacrifice, we will all live again and can be forgiven of our sins if we repent and believe in Him.

I was so proud of them!  They did such a great job and I'm pretty sure they understand the true meaning of Easter even more now.
