Dirt Bike Season/Race 3/Heart of Dixie

We got up, before the sun, to travel to Troy, Alabama for the 3rd dirt bike race of the season.  The race was held at a horse farm and it was absolutely beautiful.  The weather was gorgeous and the surroundings were beautiful.  I really wanted to call the race off, and dress my kids up in cute clothes and take pictures of them as they explored this horse farm.
It was fun being outside, eating dust, hmmm.... that part was not so much fun.
It was a very dusty race, but they all endured and came home with trophies!

Here are the results:

Seth, 1st place in the Over 40  Class! Not only did he get first, he got the HOLE SHOT, on both races and therefore, he gets a gift certificate to some dirt bike store!  He also beat his friend, Adrian, which always makes for some fun teasing back and forth. And let me tell you something else about this 45 year old!  He came in 12th out of 153 racers!

Laurel, 3rd place in the Pony Tail Class!  After getting stuck in the mud at the last race, Laurel was ready to hang up dirt biking!  Yesterday she was last going into the woods but caught up and passed a girl.  That was enough to keep her excited about it for now.

Landon, 4th place in the Tadpoles Class!  There were a lot of boys on his row.  He is always a little, well a lot nervous, before the take off.  He doesn't want his picture taken.  He says his stomach hurts and "I don't want to race anymore!"  Then he takes off.  He has never quit a race and he always places in the top 5.  He always finishes with a huge smile and says he loves racing!  So, maybe pre-race jitters?

Sawyer, 5th place in the Strider Bike Class! This race is just so stinking, cute to watch!  Sawyer stopped halfway through the race to pop a wheelie!  He slowed down and looked over at me and gave me the biggest grin.  Oh my goodness, I could eat him up!  He amazes me how he just leaves us and walks up to that podium, when they call out his name.  He is standing in front of more than 100 people.

Savannah:  My photographer!  I love looking at her pictures and can't believe some of the shots that she gets.  She loves photography.  Her and Laurel kept hearing me say that I wish I could just pose them for pictures and before I knew it, they were over by a fence posing each other for pictures.

Mommy:  Kept all kids alive, fed, watered!  Even ventured into the woods with all four kids.  I usually don't do this without Papa by my side.  He wasn't able to come to this race and boy did I miss him!  I really love watching Seth do this hobby that he is so good at and loves so much.  He loves having us all there and it has really turned into some good, family fun together.

Let's not forget Uncle Roger!  He came in first place in his class!  He is #170 and we got pictures of him also.  Seth loves having his brother racing with him again!

The End!
