Laurel has had so much fun cheering for the 5th grade football team! Her homecoming game was last week. We were so excited, because it fell on a Monday night and we knew Seth would be in town to walk her across the field. Well, the flood gates opened and the rains came. Her game was rained out and rescheduled for Wednesday night. Seth had a flight out of town on that Tuesday morning and couldn't reschedule. Laurel was so sad. I started thinking about people we could ask to stand in for her dad and then I thought about Landon! She loved the idea of having him walk her across the field. He loved it too. They practiced the night before. He took her hand and walked with her and when he got to the end of the room he leaned over and kissed her hand. It was so cute.
The night arrived and Landon was all dressed up. He looked like a big man, standing in for Seth. He got really nervous at the last minute, but as soon as I told him he could get that pogo stick he had been begging for, the nerves left. I was so proud of him for not bolting at the last minute!
The next day, he had a pogo stick waiting for him after preschool. And that boy literally jumped for 3 hours on that pogo stick. He woke up the next morning, and jumped some more. He has worn himself out on that pogo stick!
