Landon's First Dirt Bike Race

Landon was so excited when Seth signed him up for his first dirt bike race.  Seth had cut trails and made loops around our property and they had spent several months practicing together.  Seth felt like he was ready, so the whole family, and Papa, loaded up and went to Troy, Alabama.  His race was held at a really pretty place and even though it was cold, the day was beautiful.  We watched Landon race and then Seth raced after him.  It was a great day!

Before the race started, Landon called the girls over and started showing them how he warms up before a race.  He started doing his exercises.

"Stretch, Wauwel!"

I will admit, I was getting a little nervous.  My baby boy was about to be on a line with other bikes!  Landon was getting a little nervous too.

We had to walk across a really big field to get to the start.  My biggest regret was not bringing a stroller.

I love this picture!  Seth pulled Landon over to the side before the race and was talking to him.  Landon was so nervous.  This was completely different than riding around our house.  I just stood back and watched how Seth handled everything.  And don't you worry, I took pictures of everything!

He took him by the hand and walked over to trail to show him where it went.  I must be such a sap, because by this time I had some tears in my eyes.  I don't know who I was more excited for, Seth or Landon.  You could just tell that Seth was so excited to have his first, little boy racing.

Right before the race, Laurel took this picture of us.  I hugged him and told him I loved him and that he would be fine.  He felt a lot better when he found out that Seth could follow behind him on his dirt bike.  I felt better too! :)  Seth had to borrow a guy's bike because he didn't have time to go back and get his.

Seth giving him last minute direction.

And he's off!  We were all screaming, "Go Landon!"  I seriously had tears in my eyes because I couldn't believe how grown my little four year old looked.

Going through the finish line!  He came in 3rd place!!!

Right after the race!  We were all happy and relieved!  He had so much fun and talked the rest of the afternoon about it!
Once Landon's was finished, we got ready for Seth's!
