Pictures From 2013/Stories left untold

We have another photographer in the family, Laurel.  She loves grabbing the camera and taking pictures.  I just gave her my old camera and she is in heaven!

I love it also because it takes some pressure off me, if I'm busy and can't be the photographer too.  I can give her the camera and tell her to take the pictures and she does a great job.   On this day, I was rolling around with Sawyer!  She said, "now that's a pretty sight!" as she grabbed the camera.

Sawyer loves this blanket!  He calls it his B-B.  He says, "get my B-B and wock me mommy."  Many nights he comes running down the hallway dragging this B-B behind him.  He lays down on the pallet beside my bed.  I finally wised up and started making this before I went to bed.  Some nights I don't even know he is there until the morning.
"Three hours of church is too much!  I can't take it anymore!"  Sawyer has only stayed in nursery for one hour by himself.  I take that back, my cousin Melanie was in there with him.  He refuses to go and will get himself so worked up, into a screaming fit.  It's just not worth it.  He has his few favorites that he will walk the halls or walk around the outside of the building with but don't even think about leaving him in nursery.

My friend, Stacy met me at Chick-Filet so her and I could catch up while the boys played.  Where is Landon, you ask?  Hmm... hiding behind me.  He does not like animals that walk on two feet!  He asked me all kinds of questions on the way home about that pink cow.  He wanted to know, "how does that cow get those big shoes on?" "Does that cow just leave in a car?"  I'm still not quite sure he understands that the cow was a person dressed up like a cow.

Our favorite day of the week, Friday's with Ava and Lily!  These girls love seeing each other at the end of the week!

Selfies with Savannah and Sawyer

One Saturday, Ava and Lily came over to play.  Ava and Laurel brought chairs out to the woods to sit and watch Landon ride his dirt bike.  Landon felt very important and did some major showing off!
Sweet Brothers who are becoming good friends.  Sawyer calls him "Andon."

Loves stacking the jars.  I can not keep him out of here! It's a lost cause.

Oh, just trying out some creative disciplining! Artwork by Laurel (left)
and Savannah (right)

Posing with Papa before they take off to go to a dirt bike race.

Papa is such a good dad!  He has rarely missed one of Seth's races.

Three generations of Clayton boys.

Sweet big sister!
The oldest and the youngest!

One of their favorite things to do, Play Mommies!
Landon and Sawyer love playing their babies also.  I will hear one of the boys scream, "mommy!" and I will answer and they will say, "not you, mommy! Nana's my mommy or Wauwel's my mommy!"
I become the grandma, which is so fun!

So, I look at this girl's blog, Blue Skies Ahead, all the time.  I don't know her at all.  I just stumbled across her blog and she does really cute things with her kids and makes up these cute printables that she allows you to print.  Well, she had done this for some new neighbors who moved in and shared it on her blog.  I thought it was so cute!  Well, lo and behold, if in the month of October, we didn't have a new family move into a house on our street.  I knew exactly what I was going to do to welcome them to the Neigh"boo"hood! Those are suppose to be ghost in that jar if you can't tell.  Mine didn't turn out as cute as hers, but I had fun doing it.

The kids were so excited because we had heard that they had a little girl, Savannah's age and a little boy, Landon's age.  We stop one afternoon, when we see the mother out in the yard.  We get out and I'm talking to the mom, introducing myself and my children.  Suddenly her little boy comes zooming by riding a battery operated car.  Landon goes crazy and starts running after him yelling that he wants to ride!  I'm telling Landon to come back, which he finally does.  The little boy keeps riding circles around Landon and Landon is bound and determined he's going to get in that car.  He is literally opening the door of the car and trying to push the boy over so he can drive.  I wrap it up with the mom, who is looking at me like, "poor mom, with all of these kids, and she can't control her son!"  As we're getting in the car, Landon yells at the little boy, "well, I ride a dirt bike!"  We left and I said, "well girls, that went well!"  They both looked mortified!  Laurel said, "yeah, I don't think we will be invited back!"  We all busted out laughing!

Who has a friend that calls you up and says, "Why don't you bring the boys over and let them watch the concrete trucks?!"  I do!!!   We spent two hours outside watching trucks go back and forth at Lisa's house.  She had two boys first, then a girl.  So Lisa is always giving me helpful hints about boys.  She helps me understand them better and I help her understand girls.   And while Landon was watching the trucks, he got in some time with Taylor.  He is quite the charmer!  Heaven help me!
I found time to create and do some decorating amid the chaos of life.  I made my first shower curtain, grommets and all, and I love it!
I've realized something about myself, I love birds and trees and when I spotted this fabric across the store, my wheels started turning.

I painted our old coffee table and turned it into a window seat for Laurel and Savannah's room.
I saw a designer do this on a HGTV show.  I covered a big, thick piece of foam with some fabric and whala, it was a window seat!  I was going to make pillows, but found those adorable ones at Home Goods.

The chair seat, at our kitchen desk, had gotten so dirty.  I was able to recover the seat part but then realized I couldn't get the back off.  I haven't decided if I'm going to just leave it or go with the fabulous idea my sister-in-law gave.  She suggested that I make a pillow case like slip cover and drape over the back.  Such a great idea!
Decorating projects are my favorite things to do!!  It makes me happy to create and to decorate our home!
